Zone 12, LLC is a full-service real estate development firm focusing on residential development projects in New York City's outer boroughs. Zone 12 also offers real estate development consulting services, including acquisition due diligence, zoning and entitlements, permitting, and construction management.
Matthew Lawrence is the principal of Zone 12, LLC. Prior to starting his firm, he managed acquisitions, design, marketing, planning and land use, and outside legal counsel for Criterion Group, a Queens-based development company. Prior to joining Criterion, Matthew was an Operations Executive and Code and Zoning Compliance manager at Design 2147, Ltd, where he analyzed development feasibility of over one hundred million square feet at hundreds of locations across the five boroughs and then created and implemented strategies to navigate various city agency approvals. Matthew graduated from Rutgers University and Brooklyn Law School. During law school he also worked for then Public Advocate Bill de Blasio creating land use policy.
